Question: Am I really a good poet!?
I write some poetry and everyone who reads it says that for fourteen years old its really good!. But all these people are my friends and family, i just need to know the truth!
here is my poem, its called speaking truth
I couldn’t hold on any longer,
I quite simply fell apart,
And although those are simple words,
It quite near broke my heart!.
But who was there to catch me,
When all I could do was fall,
Looking back on the moment,
I’m not surprised it was you at all!.
When the secret I’d been keeping inside,
Spilled out fast and true,
The secret that had pulled me apart,
I did confine in you!.
And my tears that fell that day,
I do not regret,
I could not hide it any longer,
I’ve always been upset!.
This is how much I trust you,
Why I told the truth to you,
Because people are who they are
And you are always you!.

For your age it's not bad; you have a sense of rhythm which runs well and the form of the whole piece looks good!.
Learn that poetry is a craft as well as an art and keep on working and reworking a piece!. You need to weigh each word to see if it is THE right word!. Polish your verse as a carver polishes his wood!.

I stopped reading after the first stanza!.
You need to learn about metaphor, trope, and metrics!.
If you're going to rhyme, than you need metrics!.
If you're not going to use metrics, than you need metaphor and trope!.
This isn't a poem, it's prose!.

It is a beautiful, melodious poem!. It has great flow and lovely words!.
This line doesn't read properly: It quite near broke my heart!.
I suggest: It quite nearly broke my heart!.
So, the answer to your question would be YES!.
