Catnip Blues

I was sitting at the table
just a few minutes ago
getting notes completed
tomorrow’s Monday, you know!.
Dotting i’s and crossing t’s
Make sure the dates are right!.
Put it away!. I’ll make some tea
Before I say goodnight!.
A thundering herd of lions
At least that’s how it sounded!.
From the porch they crashed
into the living room bounded!.
George swatted Grace up side the head
Grace bit my toe in passing
I yelled,
OUCH!
Heed me well, you kittyphiles
Before you take this trip
Should you have a George or Grace
Please, forgo catnip!.

I love the the term 'thundering herd of lions' - far more effective than the usual 'pride of lions' it conjures up images of the Serengeti (to me) with hundreds of lions charging across like wildebeest!.!.!.!.how much can be in just a couple of words!.
I think the fourth verse should also rhyme (just a little)

Still cute, but my George and Gracie don't do catnip, they are two grey squirrels that live mostly in my large magnolia tree in the front yard!. Jack Benny, Dennis and Doris Day live in the pines out back!. Rochester lives next door in the neighbors pines along with evel the daredevil who chases cars and attacks dogs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Our two cats still like to raise Hell ,,,With or without the LSD for cats,,, Ours are 9 & 11 Whiskey is usually the instigator in this and Gizmo well,,,,,It takes a little bit to get her going ,,,There's no stopping her when she gets going,,,,For the most part it's Hilarious Then they "crash" And that's classic at times Snuggling up on the couch,,,one using the other as a pillow (I guess the loser),,,Gatta Love "em" Www@QuestionHome@Com
