Woke this morning with a smile!.
Out the door and down the aisle…
Waved to beloved coffee pot…
Brew was dark and steaming hot!.
Let my Snoodle out the door!.
Heard his “There’s an intruder nearby…
(And I’m gonna tear him to bits!)"
Cry!.
I’m not dreaming…
This is real!
Squeal!
There I stand, in white robe garbed!.
I should venture in the yard!?
But then, what will the neighbors say!?
They’re departing, on their way!
Oh, what the heck, outside I …freeze!
Slippers flapping in the breeze!.
Dogs and cats, rush by me yelling!.
Something chides me…
This bears telling!.
Finally, owner came and got
The Pit who’d strayed into our lot!.
Dog and I are inside, swearing…
I care not for what I’m wearing!.
Neighbors leave, the cats are quiet!.
I’m not up to a morning riot!
Pass the brew…
