Question: Would poets be interested in reading my Journal Entry #2!?
Journal Entry #2

Monday is the best day to post poems on the Internet!. They are driven to write after the outings, parties, lonely nights, boredom, reconciliations with lovers, arguments, visits from children and grandchildren, trips to console sick friends in hospital, visits with parents in nursing homes!.

Poetry flows!. They write poems and ‘pomes’ – compositions they deem unworthy to be named “Poem!.” The pieces appear in all shapes and sizes with messages shouted, whispered, laughing, disguised!. They write in classical form, free verse, no verse, punctuated, unpunctuated!.

Some of it is superb, some unreadable, most passable – but all is from the heart and the intellect; from experience, hope, visions of better – or of worse – days to come!.

Few of them write like this:

From “THE RUSTLE OF DARK WINGS”
In DEKA 3 by Dr!. Glenn R!. Swetmann, Pulitzer Prize Nominee

‘Children think spring eternal
but I have heard the shadows of hawks!.
Stay with me but this moment
while the wind is still!.’

They are a community of poets and would-be poets, who reach out through the ether to each other in joy, anguish, consolation, hope, love, fantasy!. They are virtual!. They are real!. They are a microcosm of the World!.

And I – I am a writer of prose, after all!. I cannot reach that poem!. Perhaps I should lower my reach to a height where I may grasp only that which I have always been able to hold!.

I think your post is very interesting!. And it sounds like you wrote it spontaneously, which in the world of poetry, like in other forms of artistic expression (I use the word artistic but I prefer to think of it as "natural" because the word "art" really has no definition!.!.!.) it is more akin to a pure form than something engineered!. Those who have the gift of being able to see prose flow from their hand, will know what I mean by the above, however, I would like to make a comment on the way you phrased your question, "Would poets be interested!.!.!." and stop at your using the word "poets!."

Unless you, like myself, consider that there is a potential poet in every aware, discerning individual, why would only poets (in the classical sense) be interested in reading your journal entry!? It's lovely!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nice entry, open heart!.

My muse knows no day of week
nor hour, she/he comes when least
expected, takes me by surprise!.
I would guess when retired and
alone to full my empty hours
with joy and song filled heart!.
Each day of the week just
becomes another sun to rise!.
Dates and hours on calendar's
just reminders for appointments
and paying bills on time!
All else is a blending of time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Monday may be, but to me a poem waits for no day!. My mind hears a thought, a phrase and it is off playing with the sound!.

Muse is found most anywhere
upon a bed, in a book, or a TV
Once heard it won't let you go
until the task is done!.!.!.a poem

And don't sell yourself short, I have read many fine offerings from you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you are right about Mondays and poetry here on this site, though my schedules have been pretty mixed up lately! Your prose is always poetic!. While Dr!. Swetmann is an exceptional poet, if we do not reach higher than our grasp, how do we grow!? I'm fairly sure even Shakespeare was not born with a silver pen in his mouth!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm off to download it now!.!.!.us poor folk can't afford the real thing!.

I wrote a long, rambling response here!.!.!.!.and as has been happening a lot lately, I forgot to do the last click (perhaps because my dear one was talking to me about lampshades whilst I was doing so!)!.!.not worth repeating what I said!.

Writing such as this cannot be learned (it is a soul thing)!.!.but great pleasure can be had from it, and maybe inspiration for greater effort on my part!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Interesting view!. I'm also a writer of prose!. I like your observation!. Most of my better poetry has come after a weekend!.

I have found when I experience intense feelings, intense writing often follows!. Passion begets passion!.

I look into the leafy branches on high
Of the poet tree which touches the sky!.
My little ditties cannot compare
I'm the fallen nut, that's what I have to share!.
But each day as I read someone else's poem,
I know that I have found my home!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Look for the branches far above that which you desire and reach for those instead!.

When you find yourself standing on the branch you previously thought unattainable - expect my coaching invoice!.

You are the good teacher, and, more than a few times, the good poet!. There are 300 (or so) outstanding poems in Deka 3!. Elysabeth Faslund has revived the man and the artform!. Everyone should read this book (as soon as we finish it!.)

This project occurred between two hurricanes; Katrina and Ike!. It is a miracle of nature!. Dr Sukic says, "He's got this constant internal clock that drives each sound!."

For me, it is the mastery of punctuation that I admire the most (my most-lacking skill!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com
