Question: Again, I reflect and invite input as I see the flower that made me remember!.!.!.!.!?
The Ghost of Summer

There is a definite
confusion in the
Hummingbird’s wings, bang
against the wind, pow
to the blue-green petals
barking buzzing belonging
to a few seconds of sky
blue water blankets
the stem and zing
back now with glossy eye
and corn-yellow head
with a rattle of crooked glass while
a chocolate-coated dog jumps
two feet hanging swish
gone waiting
sun stamps stamen to
Tempt
the bird again!.
The day plays out
along a fresh crop
of minutes coaxing
the winged
ghost of summer, hot dirt
willing its prey to
stab the flesh of a
flower’s nose
bang
bird killer, bad dog
lonely flower doesn’t
know and waits
on thin green legs!.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
a pinetree in the desert
a nest filled
with a new family of
native bird
they do not know
about the killer
like the
last, they are not
fast and will soon
become a toy
for a blue healer!.

Why DON'T those flowers know!? Mine, too, are waiting on thin green legs, coming out two months too late!. A curious phenomena!. I pity their optimism!.
I like the imagery of this time of year in your poem; the confusion of nature, undecided on whether to get ready for winter or embrace summer!. No one feels quite right!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like it because I could be there and see it!. My Zack is a serial killer, mostly voles, moles, rabbits and house flies!. He would have killed a humming bird if given the chance!. I like that the flower feels what I feel (if that makes sense) Www@QuestionHome@Com
