Question: Will posting a poem bring forth critique!?
*****
MY NEW DAVENPORT

My brown chair
is a leather covered coffin,
I pass away the time
workin’ hard
at doin’ nothing,

Time spent there
is better than wood choppin’,
grocery store a’ shoppin’
Pricin’ and compare’n,

Fan blows air
up my shorts and down my system,
makes it hard to listen
to ya’ shoutin’
down the stairs,

Without cares
I lounge here in my coffin,
the preacher never stoppin’
saying all my prayers…

Finally a decent poem that shows some creativity!. Except for more rhyming than I would like, it was wonderful and quirky!. Very well done, keep writing about that chair!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Second stanza, 3rd line:

grocery store a' shoppin'

I think this line scans & reads silently & out loud w/an "an" instead of the "a' "

grocery store an' shoppin

You need to spend less time at the chair & take up a hobby!.
Go be a greeter at Mal-wart, they have fans to blow air up your shorts :)

I so see an old man w/spindly legs laying in his barcalounger day after day in your verse!. It is a nice poem T!.D!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This poem is interesting
a chair in leather
like a coffin
I guess it will save on the
price of buying a bed!.
You can pass much of the time
catching up on your rest
this can be hard work!.
You in your chair without a care
of what other people are doing!.
