THE HOUSE OF THUNDER

A baleful visage of weathered mass
Of missing shingles and broken glass
Of weeds that triumphed over grass
Of crooked lamps of tarnished brass

And years ago, a man did dwell
Within those halls, his mind not well
His wife had not a clue to tell
Before her husband's axe had fell

The rumbling from the house within
Has filled these nights with raucous din
A pealing borne of harbored sin
From restless souls of temper thin

And so it was, and is, and will
We let the souls of those lie still
For rabid ghosts shall claim no kill
Within those tortured halls until!.!.!.!.!.

There's no lights on in the house of thunder
Nor any breath, no love in slumber
But venture not your wasted wonder
