Question: Is there a time when "I love you" is overused and doesn't quite fit!?
"Part 3 of 3"

The Beginning:
Speak sweet kind words,
and let them wash over me,
allow me to reach for you,
let your eyes look to view!.

Fear not my touch,
I won't be mean to you,
I'll stay true to you,
a friend in all you do!.

If this is too much for you,
I'll temper what I do,
my words just a few,
stop you from being blue!.

But if you'll only be mine
until the end of time
I will show you my way
that I say "I love you" everyday!.

Interlude

I love you!.!.!.
Stomping on your chest
punching you in your eye
recovery a week a best
you feeling like you'll die!.

I love you!.!.!.
Telling you your worthless
pushing you to the floor
another punch with a fist
'til you can't take this anymore

I love you!.!.!.
And you scream out
to anyone that will listen
Another bout with "I love you
and I'll be forever missing"

I love you!.!.!.more
And I watch you die
I tell you I did not lie
How you could not think
I didn't love you!.!.!. sigh

!.!.!. so tell me does love require actions or can one just say "I love you"
and nothing more!.

Note: Please do not think this every happened to me or I was involved!.!.!. it is only a statement that "I love you" can be misused and often is!.!.!. it is dedicated to those that don't quite get it!.
I love hearing someone loves me!.!.!. as long as it's unconditional and giving!.!.!. not like above!. The poem is raw and written in 10 minutes without much structure!.!.!. I am passionate about love and it abhors me to see it misused!.

"I love you" can be just as easily misused, warped and twisted as anything else, perhaps more so, as often those words are a craving!.

Actions do reinforce words, meaningfully constructive and manically abusive!. It is tragically abhorrent I agree, alas, that does not preclude the abuse!.

I agree as well, that sometimes, utterance of those three words is simply enough, no explanation or DEMON-strations needed,,, mostly I opt for actions interspersed with words to convey my passion!.

Nicely written thought provoking bit of verse Mr!. Bob!.

A DRINKING SONG

Wine comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That's all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die!.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you, and I sigh!.

i mean it's nice to tell someone you love them every now and then but words should definitely be accompanied by action otherwise they're just wordsWww@QuestionHome@Com

At the risk of sounding repetitious!.!.!.!.Oh Bob

Sounds like an abusive relationship here, unless I missed something! You told it well in your poetry! Sadly enough there are people who are in abusive relationships and are the punching bag and later when the drama is over they are told again once more " I love you" If they really do then they need to seek some help before the one that they "love" becomes dead!

Love the way you brought all of this out, amazingly good job!
