High Noon is Drawing Near
Picture this…!.!.
Main Street, sun high
Men standing alert
Flickering fingers
Hip-height
Narrowed eyes squint
Jaws clench
Gentle zephyr blows
Tumbleweed rolls
Tension mounts
Meanwhile back at home…!.!.
Deadline awaits
PC stands at the ready
Silent fingers
Waist high
Glassed eyes peer
Mouth wrinkles
Aircon sighs
Mouse wheel rolls
Frustration rises
Darn those Gunsmoke re-runs
I have to get this poem finished by Friday!
Now switch off the TV and concentrate!
