Question: An old fallacy or still reality!?
Dry Tears

My tears are always dry
a manly thing I guess
or tear duct self control
weakness flows, never here

Yet my voice does quiver
and I have to look away
silent stares, far off skies
as dry tears flow and flow

A manly thing I guess
need to maintain control
no ‘waterly’ tears here
manly men do not cry

But eyes ache from these tears
tears that never pour forth
although I long to cry
a manly thing, I don’t

a manly thing…indeed!

It's reality for me!.
I never saw my granfather cry!.
I never saw my father cry!.
Nobody has ever seen me cry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I thought it was a very good poem filled with emotion concerning the blocking of an emotion!.

I don't find anything wrong with crying when you need to cry!. I don't hold or hide my emotions unless they are detrimental to my world!. I usually cry happy tears these days!. I have much to be thankful for I have lived long and survived!. I feel love and am loved!.!.!. and I have a great past to look back on!.!.!. so my tears are seldom sad!.

I was in the Marines 9 years and I saw many men cry, although it was usually when they were alone after a mission!. Men cry, it's just where they choose that is elusive to some!.

Well said!. I believe it's an old fallacy!. Real men cry; I saw my Grandpa cry once!. There's emotional crying and then there's physical crying!. When I cry emotionally I just get a runny nose,my eyes actually dry out, and I get a headache!. But I've always had sinus problems; it has nothing to do with being manly!.

Pain
never makes me cry, but
happiness does

Your poetry is, as usual, exceptional!. I know that I went for years crying only dry tears because I was afraid that if I began to weep openly, I would never stop!. A different cause for the same aching outcome- the inability to cry!. I hope your tears come to you, tears of joy perhaps!. Thank you!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, it is still a reality, no so much these days because the old fallacy is starting to wear off and people are more accepting of a man crying!. It shows the sensitive side, but as a man the only one who should see that is the woman you love and not often! Nice poem, i like the way you put this poetically!Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is lovely, Seemly a long time hindrance to the male ego!.
Little boys do have a need to cry and so do men!.

At my husbands death a young man who had worked for us through
high school, for all he was worth, sobbed in my arms, I was so rapped
up in comforting him, he brought me comfort, with his heartfelt tears
of grief, I would have been unaware of with words he never spoke!.

"Jesus wept!." and who was more of a Spirit on a human journey!.

Kudos Neon, you are an amazing poet!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Somewhere along the line, I lost my ability to cry!. I wonder if that means I'm in touch with my masculine side!? When I sleep, however, I often shed tears, because my face will be swollen and the pillows wet!. I think that some people have built up such thick walls, that the ability to cry gets shut behind them!. Great poem, Neon!. I liked it very very much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nice poem, but go ahead and let the tears flow!. It's good for you!. I too used to be too manly/macho to have tears, and I was miserable inside!. Now I just let them flow when they want and we are all happy!. also, I don't have to shoot people any more either, that helps too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its a good thing not being able to cry!. I cried half an hour ago!.!.!.now my left eye is swollen!. I'm gonna look so hideous for my interview tomorrow!. I look so ugly now i'll try to never cry again!. So be blessed for being a man!. Now!.!.!.teach me how to shed dry tears! lolWww@QuestionHome@Com

Words flow as tears!. Words are the catharses!. If men can be poets, artists, musicians, they may surely cry!. There will always be a friend to console the longing heart!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its an old fallacy, but still preserved as a reality!. well put!.
Next time tell us who had put into His mind that watery tears are not manly!? In other words who 'd have the power to persuade him not to shed tears!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Flooding inside
Trying to hide
The other side
Such manly pride
Pain denied
Sad aside

Hopes subside
Truth replied
Rivers wide
I have cried

My other side
