Question: Can writing poetry help you release anger!?
*****
LARRY ALWAYS NEEDED OTHERS

Wall paper yellowed by years
of nicotine, curling at corners,
The family photo smeared over
with strawberry jam from the sticky
fingers of the baby man, bent
over retching, “muther…muther!.”

He rubs away at the stains, looking
for a face he can curse for making
another like the thing in the frame!.

He licks away at the jam, a kiss
his mother never gave him, a taste of
her he never had, nor teet,

He would break it and smash, if only
the red sticky sugar on her face were
not all that is left for him to covet!.

Actually, I like "baby man" better!. also, the unorthodox line breaks drive home your points!. Maybe a few revisions for flow, but don't change many!. If it is read properly - by which I mean following the writer's cues - the line breaks change the meaning from orthodox to original!.

I think poetry helps you realize that what one is feeling is ever so much more complicated than anger!. In fact, its rarely anger!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

One of the best ways to release anger is by writing about it, it's a great stress reliever and helps you to better understand your problem!. The better you understand a problem the better able you are to help others!. This poem posted here, is a good start, needs proofreading and maybe a bit of expansion on the poem, with a little work it will be a great read!. Above all keep writing!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like baby man, too
teet - teat!?

Everyone has hang-ups, and many look around for some-one to blame, but the one towards home hate should be directed, may not be the one in the frame!.

Ambivalent love is always a burden!.
I loved the opening verse!.!.!.!.it says so much in so few words, and the remainder of the poem lived up to the opening!.
Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This poem illustrates the ambivalence of life!. It engages the emotions of anyone who has had a past and feels both positive and negative emotion from that past!. The poem portrays more than anger; it also portrays anguish!.

I am confused by the last word of S3!. Is it a typo!?

It helps, I like smashing dishes as well!.
There comes a time when one has to grow up and realize one's parents or whomever it is that made one angry!. I feel your poem described
that state of perpetual childhood, convinced the universe revolves around one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

true that it releases anger!. any form of written entry like blogs, stories, journals and stuffs!. it could help you and also it will an archaeological piece later on!. hahahha ^_^ Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!. FAR better to release it on paper- than to release it on SomeONE, & end up writing poetry about Prison Life on Death Row!.!.!. :0 Www@QuestionHome@Com

Poetry helps to express the choler,
But releases it not from its coiled hex!.
No release quite like wine, women & sex,
Changing so sweet, this passion to valor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes it help release anger!. but this poem needs revision!. the way it stops at the end of each row doesn't work!. needs to flow better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
