Question: Has your dog ever been your muse!?

Mine was this morning, what say you about something (finally) a little lighter from his master!?

There is a clock within me true,
alarm sounds and I go to find
my master in her sitting room
bent over, tying final shoe!.

My tail does wag, my pulse it quickens,
morning walk is about to begin!
She grabs for leash, and I'll not lie,
I'm excited as all out dickens!.

Same route we take each day, a mile,
I know its stops and turns,
familiar sights and sounds abound,
neighborhood dogs who know no guile!.

They leave their calling cards for me
under bush, or by side of road!.
I stop and sniff, their message read,
I leave own mark where they will see!.

What a way to start fine new day
this exercise, my master and I
while I connect with doggie friends
she finds words anew she'll soon say!.

Sometimes
when it's raining
i think of you
with a poignancy
that leaves my heart in pain!.
And I remember yesterday
as if it were this morning!.
And i can do nothing but weep
for those days of love
are gone!.

Sometimes
when the skies are blue
and the sun is warm and friendly
I remember you with a fondness
that fills my heart with joy,
and for a brief moment
my heavy heart is lifted
and the pain that comes with memories
ceases for a while!.
