Dirt Under My Nails
Dirt under my nails
Sweat on my brow
Curvature of my back
Sun liquefying brownness
Signature stamped DNA
Dripped along side
Freshly planted seeds
Dirt under my nails
Sweat on my brow
Curvature of my back
Knees and hands connect
Rhythmic movement
Massaging the hurt
Of Mother Nature
Dirt under my nails
Sweat on my brow
Curvature of my back
Greedy impatient earth
Creep upwards under nails
Continuing my brownness
Continuing my greenness
Dirt under my nails
Sweat on my brow
Curvature of my back
Smell of the earth
Reminds me of my
Past and present home
Beauty, tragedy, mystery
all live here and I
for now just
Be an amnesiatic

and got the pollen in my eyes
I get down -- get down and dirty
Gettin' it on play that hurdy gurdy
Man them flowers sure look purdy!

I think!. !. !. !."Ewww, there is dirt under my nails" then go to get it out, go back to task at hand and think!. !. !. !. !."Ew, I am sweating and smell rank" so then go in and take a shower!. It is a dirty sweaty job,
but it has its rewards in the therapeutic value of watching things grow!.!.
Then to go out and find that some num nuts has stolen my best green peppers right off the bush in broad daylight!.!.
