It's the same people all the time, posting the most inane and trivial 'poems' you're likely to see anywhere!. Then they're telling one another what geniuses they are for stuff that doesn't even match the level of children's limericks!. 'Epic', 'brilliant', 'kudos', etc!., all for 3 line verses with about 10 words in them!. Are they deluded!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I am disappointed in them!. You see, I have had too much to do with them already!. Within an hour of the time I first posted a poem on this site, I was contacted by an editor of Tangled Web Press (Martian Central Command) who expressed an interest in publishing my poetry!. I did not want to post 10-25 poems in short order to fulfill her suggestion because I feared that I would post rubbish!. Little did I know that this is what I would be reading here, almost without exception!. I don't need the flattery of people whose judgment seems impaired!. I don't want to be included in a collection of Trigees and half-baked free verse poems, angry adolescent mooning over lost love, and Southern pan-fried "confessional" poetry!. Besides, if my interest resided in being published, I have several well-placed acquaintances in publishing, affiliated with major houses, and it would be no problem!. I have been applauded by the poet laureate of my state (New York) for my poetry, have received warm receptions whenever I read my work at poetry workshops, and have had other publishers express an interest in my work!. Why would I take the lickspittles of the Martian oligarchy seriously when I can see that all they do is churn out derivative fluff that would only be satisfactory for the thundering herd and/or their cronies, then clap each other on the back!. It really is hysterically funny!! Yes, those you describe are deluded!.!.!.unquestionably, and they are also insecure!. They are reminded that others outside their circle of intimates occasionally display real talent, so they are threatened!. You see, we who separate ourselves from the lemmings become targets because we don't care for what the "cognoscenti" have to offer!.!.!.it isn't much! I have had so much abuse heaped on me merely for being articulate, inventive, and yes honest!. Amongst honorable men, such would be prized!.!.!. Www@QuestionHome@Com No I'm not fed up at all!. I look at the stuff and if I don't get interested with a quick scan I don't bother to read any more!. It kinda comes back to the old line about YA and why are we here if we want to do,see and hear things that will change our lives forever!. We should join the forums of the lofty and enjoy ourselves there!. There's good stuff here and there's (*thinks for a minute*) not so good stuff as well and there's learners and all sorts!. Maybe there's a mutual admiration society!.!.!.!.but crikey!.!.!.!.who cares!? You needn't care, nor I, nor anyone!.
