Back out on the porch
rocking in my chair,
cats sleeping at my feet
day’s promises are fair!.

Sun has yet to rise
sit and let the dark
breezes sneak through screens
softly find their mark!.

Permeate my space
silent sounds so strong
as peace enters in
know that I belong!.

You describe my favorite time of pre-dawn perfectly!
Once upon a time, not too long ago, those were my only moments of solace!. Now I yearn for the lives of ever running teenagers through my home!. It is much too quiet at times!.
