Question: Does this Dorsimbra poem follow the rules of punctuation!?
Punctuation
by Elaine Polin

“Of punctuation!.” I’ll say, “I’m the Queen!!!!”
Since commas, colons:, hyphens--, I adore;
Oft’ when I nudge them, they say, “You are mean!!!!”
I cannot bear to do this any more!.

If they would just
re-read their stuff,
I could die
a happy woman!!!!!!

But fate is such that I will be constrained
To punctuate until my dying day
And when St!. Peter asks what I’ve done well
“Of punctuation,” I’ll say, “I’m the Queen!.!!!!”

This “poem” illustrates that it takes more than form, meter, rhyme, or even punctuation to create a real poem!. Compare this thingy, which DOES follow the rules to:

I used to be the "comma splice" queen, but I lost crown and title some time during college!. Great Dorsimbra!.!.!.gotta love punctuation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm sticking to my guns!. Every attempt to use proper punctuation should be made!. I'm not saying let it get in the way when the thoughts are flowing, but get it in there before sending it off to the world!.
I'm no expert at all the rules but ignorance is no excuse!. I see the point you are trying to make, however!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The second stanza is intense!. I know that my punctuation is (very lousy)!. Your punctuation is perfect, so this Dorsimbra follows the rules of punctuation; and your point is clear!. For the title, I don't know!. It seems that there are a lot of contenders out there, not to mention those longing for King-ship!Www@QuestionHome@Com

And why or why do we need the stupid little marks and dashes and periods and colons and semicolons and other devices when we can just write like this with but a capitalized beginning and one simple ending called a period!.

Now tell the truth, confess!.!.!.how many blue pens do you own!? lol A fun read!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When I see Dorsimbra I think of a a simulated bra shaped like dorsal fins!. Is that possible!? In any case I am sure that's not what you meant!.
