YOU CAN’T GET THERE
FROM HERE

Maps cannot show where the road doesn’t go,
To places mistaken for paradise,
Oasis of spaces, lofty plateaus,
Of valueless vanity sacrifice,

Faces collide,
Fratricide follows,
And wallows in pride,
Having lied and gotten away with it,

I try to deny that I asked God why,
And wished every time, to hear a reply,
I’ve said all the words and read all the books,
Maps cannot show where the road doesn’t go!.

My God, how I love the Classics!Www@QuestionHome@Com

As to form, I cannot comment for it's a study I have not mastered
but as to content, I will say, YOU have mastered it therein!.

Asking God for wisdom and the way not found in words or books
only to be left taking one floundering step at a time!.!.!.!.and that
is our journey!.

Loved it, maWww@QuestionHome@Com

This is a very difficult form to master!. You have done so perfectly!. The form is classic, but the message belongs to the poet!. There is a great deal of irony in this poem!. I hope those who love the beauty and power of the word will read the poem several times and then study it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
