Question: Would you care to see a poem that my friend really likes!?
*****
Under the Canopy
by TD Euwaite

I am here,
In the forest,
Waiting by,
A trickling fall,

Where I stand,
It seems forever,
Here I am,
Dogwood, small

Flowering,
Pink and ivory,
Underneath,
An emerald veil,

I wait for you,
In the shadows,
Branches spread,
Along the trail,

Here I stay,
A pathway marker,
For the ones,
Who hear the call,

You will know,
When you see me,
I’m the one,
That’s not so tall,

I wait here,
By the river,
At the flowing,
Waterfall,

This is one of my favorite poems from your recently published book, Pavlov's Cat!. I like it, not only for the imagery, rhyme and meter, but for the message and the music!.

There are certain poems written by various poets that I find soothing and at the same time educational!. This poem reminds me that "I'm the one (who's) not so tall," metaphorically speaking, and I need it as a portrayal of the strength and endurance of nature despite the horrors our species perpetuates upon ourselves and the natural world!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You know how I could tell it was a dogwood!?
Its bark!. Ha ha Ha
I used to work for a landscape company and had to hear that every time we planted one!.

Lovely poem, it touched me sincerely!. We use to have this great hilly region on either side of The Scioto River that was once inhabited by the Delaware and Shawnee!. Under the canopy were thousands of dogwoods--like lost souls trying to stay at home and at peace!.
It's now The Memorial Golf Course on one side, that Jack Nicklaus built, and The Wedgewood Country Club on the other!.

So this is the kind of stuff you put in your books!. I can't wait to get one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is not too bad at all!. That's now 2 fairly decent poems I've seen from you, Robert!. The rest were absolute howlers!. You've managed to hide that 'really good rhythm' you modestly claim for someone whose 'poetry is good'!. (I'll be the judge of that, thank you very much!.)

What happened to your last question!? I responded, went out for a burger and by the time I got back it had disappeared!. Did I miss something!?

Keep going!.!.!.you're getting better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Rhythm and a whole lot more, confidence likability charisma sensitivity Humorous all neatly wrapped up in a package called TD!
Thanks for being out there, I certainly enjoy all your poetry!

When I begin to post again
maybe I will get to say
I was one of the lucky few,
to get a comment from someone
like you! Cheers!

Yes this is another goodie!. I like the lyrical nature that arises when your songwriting hands scribe forth!. I like them more than the random inspiration jottings!. These express your "voice" really well!. You are expressing who you are rather than entertaining the herd!. sorry to be blunt!.

I do like this!. It reminds me of times I've spent in forests!. There aren't any real forests where I live now, so the memory is refreshing!.

I like the pacing of this poem and the way the tools of poetry writing, from rhyme to meter, are used!.

The setting is fantastically peaceful!. The bubbling sounds of rippling water, the shattering resounds of the falls, really puts the reader in a good mood!.
You really know where to shoot when it comes to effecting the heart!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

After years of waiting
to become a hollow log
I've had my last indignity
to be pissed on by a dog!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
