Question: Wanna go for a boat ride!?
Silliness

Goin' down to Lake Michigan
It's not too good for fishin' in
The fishes have dark spots on them
Wouldn't wanna be eatin' them

It's not safe for swimmin' in
Your feets will surely get cuts on them
But fine it is for boat ridin' in
Headin' down to Lake Michigan

*This started out silly, but as I typed I realized the sadness of it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Swim to your delight
fishies will take fright
seeing such a sight
in pollution's light!

Don't you think it is getting cleaner!? Hopefully, someday!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

polluted waters sadly large and small are all about, I was raised on
a lake near, as a youth the only boats that had a motor were putt putts, so called, and those were few, mostly rented!. Of course
now it is loaded with speed boats and various toys, adding lots of noise
and litter from season residences and visitors!. We all pay the price
for luxury joys! And some have no respect, toss their litter overboard!.

Neat poem, enjoy your day, anyway!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's the best rhyming for Michigan I've ever heard, and, being from Ohio, I've heard a bunch!.
You're right, it is a sad statement because of it's truth, but you've brighten it up the best you could!.
Silliness is a good title, because; it is silly that too many things are no longer pure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is not Ur usual style of writing, I prefer the previous one!. The subject however, is obviously yours and its really sad !.!. Its heart breaking that, such sites were polluted not by aliens, martians, or some shadow demons!. The beautiful (Lake Michigan) is no exception!.
Thanks for reminding us, all of us, of the consequences of abusing our environment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Everything I've read today seems to be really good, this was as well!. I feel like a breeze blew into my house and left me with a few clouds to float, as if I could really float on a cloud!. I have trouble rolling over on my back as it is, it is my begging position!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Love the poem!. But yes, from silly to sad, when you think of how we take care of our waterways!.
What will we do when they're all gone, no more fishin', no more swimmin', 'n eventually, no more boatin'!.

Take me once around Montrose Harbour, if you can get free of the dock and past the litter!. Good poem!. I remember when it was good swimming off the Rocks, and we caught and ate delicious striped bass!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You're right - silliness has turned into a very sad picture - a sick and dangerous lake - and such a big one at that!. Very sad - that such a large body of water - shows pollution so readily!. ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

This would be a great intro into a commercial about pollution!. A child could read it while they play scenes of ecological mistakes in the background!. It would wake me up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is sad!. We can't imagine those forests and lakes 150 years ago!. And!.!.!.most of the things built with that wood have long since been torn down or destroyed!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm always up for a boat ride, but after your description, I think I'll stick with the Great South Bay!.
