A GOOD TIME TO TAKE
THINGS SERIOUSLY

As you squat over the bar,
your don’t think about the iron disks,
equivalent to your own body weight
on each side…

“Clean” takes less than a second,
You find out, on the way up
if you’ll have control of the mass,

With the bar resting under your chin,
you have a moment to contemplate
how the thing got there…and why,

“and Jerk” is really a misnomer,
it’s more of a ‘sneak’ slipping in
under the weights before they start
a downward motion!.

If you get locked in and walk it up,
then hold it for the count of two,
that is the time, like Alexeev,
for a little grin…
