A lover asked his beloved,

I have died to myself
and I live for you!.

I’ve disappeared from myself
and my attributes!.

I have forgotten all my learning,

I have lost all my strength,
but from your power
I am able!.

If I love myself
I love you!.

Reason seeks a profit!.
Love comes on strong,
consuming herself, unabashed!.
Yet, in the midst of suffering,
Love proceeds like a millstone,

Love gambles away every gift God bestows!.
Without cause God gave us Being;
