Question: Song Writing Tips For a Beginner!?
I've been wanting to write a song for the longest time!. I've got a million ideas bottled up, but don't know how to put them on paper!. I know how to read and write VERY simple music, but I'm no good at rhythm or a good beat!. My music inspiration is Alison Sudol (singer in A Fine Frenzy)!.

Thanks for your help! Sorry for the lack of information!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ky, how about taking one of your hero's songs - writing it down - leaving a line free between the lines - then REALLY looking at the words used - counting syllables - looking at repetitions etc!. Then put your own words in mirroring the words of the original!.!.!.!.then discard the original lines (you can do this in poetry too, I've just learned about it) See what you get!.
E!.g Oh, the sun shines bright on little red wing (song line)
Hey, my man's eyes shine but something's sad there (your line)
see - my syllables match the original!.

Music is the mechanics of sound!. Dance is the bodies was of regurgitating the rhythms!. You have to learn to feel the beat!. Start with the drums because they are the root of the music!. Check out the Reggae dudes!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
