Question: 10 pts > Am I a good sonnet poet!?
Ambition
I know I can sing, if only I try
But why can I not endeavor to write!?
I know I can laugh at clouds in the sky
But why can I not attempt a bird's flight!?
So many a thing I know I can do
But dreams are not made by wishing and whims!.
The only known truth is do what is true,
Tho hope is a ghost, and chances are slim!.
I pray that my path won't lead my astray;
Ambition can turn a common life cold,
And yet there is joy when every new day
Reveals a new knowledge to reach the untold!.
And even the greatest minds among men

Firstly, the poem is a typcial sonnet when acknowleding length, form and topic!.!.!.
14 lines of rhyming scheme ABAB CDCD etc etc!. However, the last two lines of a sonnet should rhyme, "men" and "wind" do not, so that needs to be changed!.
And the topic is "philosophy of beauty of life", also typical of a sonnet!.
So based on those alone, you are a very good sonnet writer, but in addition to that, the poem itself is really really good!. And anyone who reads it can be inspired by its meaning, so it is clear to me that not only is this poem good, but that it isn't good by chance, I think maybe you have a talent for it, if your other material is of any similar standard!.!.!.
