Trust freely given but easily broken creates a chasm that's hard to cross!. There may be a bridge that will cross the abyss but it takes two to build it!. It is so sad that I no longer want a bridge to you; you took too much away!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: This is beautiful, bringing back connotations of the Irish ballad, "The Water is Wide!." Only that one ended on a happy note!. However, I tend to familiarize more with poems of a more sorrowful timbre, and this one echoes across the chasms made from bridges burned, in past lives, present lives, future lives!. The last three lines are beautiful in their isolation, the personal understanding of isolation, the living with it, and the knowledge that once the bridge is broken, what was taken can never be restored!. I identify with someone who has hurt you and broken your trust long ago!. You've burned those bridges!. Now he wants you back and you say, Too much!. I see a strength of resolve to go forward and not try to fix what has been broken!. Very well put, like a path to your soul!. It's sad in the way that you lay yourself out publicly!. The poem makes me feel sad in the way that I cannot help the writer!. You've captured the emotion well with you use of imagery within this poem!. When trust disappears it does create a chasm that is nearly impossible to cross!. But forever had an end it wasn't supposed to have!.
