Question: Ten alterations to an old poem, but will you like it!?
Written in 2005 and receiving some acclaim, though I was not completely happy with it!. I felt some changes needed to be made!.

How green The Weeping Willow
whose tresses caress
the gentle brooks flow!.
How yellow the King Cup,
bright as new churned butter
‘neath the Willows bending bough!.

How swift the King Fisher,
dropping like a stone
having spied a little fish!.
Flits quickly to the Willow
cocks back its bluish head
downing its unblinking dish!.

How gurgles the gentle brook,
between its grassy banks
girded by trodden path!.
How happy the little children,
skipping in joyous play
their voices in merry laugh!.

How beautiful the Sky Lark
wings towards the sky!.
Singing his joyful notes
in tune with happy children;
some fishing with net and jar,
others sailing their paper boats!.

A gentle scene a happy scene
remembered again with joy!.
Seen now in minds old age
when once it was a boy!.

I like this better than the original as I hope you will!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

An exquisitely illustrated scene, made alive with gentle, lilting imagery!. I love the way it sounds when read aloud!. Each word, each line and each image flow gracefully into the next!. I really enjoyed this!. Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like the images and meter did sing!. Check S4L4 "children" seemed to not fit the sound or the line 1 beat long at least to me!. Overall, well done!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sublimely descriptive with meter that sings!. I like it very much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
