Oh my goodness, are you suggesting one die without heirs yet buy life insurance!? Depending on the charity and the life insurance, this is potentially really good tax advice!. In fact, the Harvard endowment started doing something similar for alumni about three years ago!.

But maybe I am misreading your poem!.

Edit: Actually, no it's not!. I'm pretty sure you'll need to convey the insurance policy to a trust with the charity as beneficiary before you die, to avoid estate tax!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the states, beneficiaries receive the money, tax free!. You would have to specify the beneficiary!. Your will would then direct the funds if the beneficiaries died before you if my memory is correct!. This from that standpoint would not make a Con-Verb!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
