Lost Without you
Here’s a little something it’s rather sublime
About being in the right place at the right time
It’s all about numbers and trigonometry
Computers, math and relativity
It’s about a profession that’s centuries old
And without it no way this story would be told
Defining space on sea, sky and land
Deciding what belongs in to which hand
A tale of property and rights, oil and gas
A way to connect today to the past
Proving what‘s rightfully yours and mine
Keeping life in a truly straight line
Tying things together while we expand
Not spoken of often but always in demand
Letting us grow by leaps and bounds
Shaping countries and building towns
Lewis and Clark, George Washington too
Just some you may know to mention a few
Conquering land and shaping Earth they did
Just look back and marvel at the pyramid
With chains and rods optics of glass
They measured our lives and recorded our past
Technology advanced and changed our tools
Paving the way to find fossil fuelsWww@QuestionHome@Com

You certainly have many guises! Now you are the epitome of a surveyor and just in your last poem you were a diver!. Yes, all of us would be lost without the surveyors of the world!.( I tend to get lost even with their essential help)!. My favorite lines are
"Conquering land and shaping earth they did
Just look back and marvel at the pyramid"!.

I'm gonna call you! It's funny, just the other day I saw some surveyors in the road and wondered "What are they surveying" What is the purpose, etc!? And here you come along and explain it in a poem!
