Question: This poem had a sex change operation in Minnesota!. It is still very sad, no!?
*****
Loneliness is measured
in feet…sticking out of the covers, two
Coffee for one

Each pause turns to a reflection, love
She’ll be standing there, sandy hair
Tall and thin

Friends ask how you are, restrained
With a faraway glance, you’ll say ‘Fine’
Each time

Frozen memories, frozen in time
Images of such a bright smile
Lived…and Laughed

We all miss her so, we are with you
Tonight, in the cold, see us there
One hundred feet under the covers…

This one tugs at my heartstrings!. The first four stanzas were so sad, describing the loneliness and forlornness that comes with loss!.!.!.and then the last stanza was so sweet!. "One hundred feet under the covers," what would we do without our friends and loved ones standing by to help and care, even if not physically there, they are always truly "with" us!.
