You have a loose link to John Henry, the steel driving man, who beat the machinery, but died with the hammer in his hand!. Mythology always grabs me and pulls me into the poem!. There is Thor; I hear thunder of lightning, the lightning striking is like the hammer hitting the granite -- the sparks!.
