Position:Home>Poetry> Do these rhyme?Question: Do these rhyme!? okay, so!.
me and my friend are playing a game!. do hawk and mock rhyme!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Like Aimee said, it's an imperfect rhyme!. If you had a serious accent they might not sound alike at all!. also there are a lot of words that used to rhyme but are still used in a poetic context (ie!. again and rain)!. also there are vowel rhymes where the words sound close enough because the vowel is what is stressed (ie!. tall and raw)!. <<<i guess it may be a perfect rhyme if you had grown up speaking mandarin chinese!.lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Yes, they do!. Rhyming has little to do with how words look or are spelled, just with how they are said!. Some words seem to not rhyme because of the local accent/dialect!. For example, in some eastern US states, words starting with "or" are said as if that part of the word was "are" (such as orange, Oregon, original, or organize)!. In a place I used to live (Australia), pronunciation changes so radically that some words are even spelled differently in their dictionaries (like when "aluminum" becomes "aluminium")!. Hope this helps!. barjesse37Www@QuestionHome@Com Hi Listen to the words as you sound them out!. H-AW-K - M - O-CK!. Now repeat them a few times, maybe get your friend to say it, than listen to how it sounds by breaking the word up as i sugested at top!. Remember, though - there was many different ways of rhyming!.Www@QuestionHome@Com of course they don't because unfortuantly the ending sounds don't match in the correct formWww@QuestionHome@Com In a sense, yes they could go together and would be more interesting in a poem that if you put clock and mock togetherWww@QuestionHome@Com yes because is a wonderful rhyme and its a friendly rhyme!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Yeah they do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com of course they doWww@QuestionHome@Com Only if you read them out loud!.Www@QuestionHome@Com what!?!? they dont rhyme at all!Www@QuestionHome@Com noWww@QuestionHome@Com |
