You might think this strange, but I really like `allotrope in the atmosphere;' there is something mysterious and changeable as the stars about (say) metastable cubic ice, which brings the poetry back to the old Tarpinian rock of the original's imperial celestium!.

There is an existing and somewhat famous version I learned from my father decades ago, which he always attributes to H!.G!. Wells, though I could never corroborate it!. It begins as yours does:

Scintillate, scintillate, asteroid minific!
Feign do I fathom your nature's specific--
Exaltedly set on the aether capacious,
A reasonable facsimile of a gem carbonaceous!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Indeed!

Once heard an album of famous people doing nursery rhyme/songs!.!.!.!.Don't recall who did this, isn't quoted, please note, can't recall it verbatim, but my version was;

Yo yo yo
twinkle twinkle twinkle
little star up in the sky
Yo yo yo
how you got you up there
how you got so high!.!.!.

humorous good fun, thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, Data would approve as do I!. "Just for fun" is always worthwhile!. This may not make it into your volume titled Collected Poems someday or be studied in lit classes but this kind of playing with words always helps make us better poets!. Keep on having fun and sharing the results!. Making us think makes us better writers, too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wonderful fun!. Of course, by choosing a well known nursery rhyme you made it too easy for folk!. This begs to appear in print somewhere!.

You've certainly beaten me, since mine didn't rhyme!. Elaine noticed! so I must now attempt another and (now) reach even greater heights!.

Flippin' well done!!
ps - is that how your spell 'transcending' in the usa!? (Oh, gee Granny, give us a break!)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Poor Phoenix, his poetry is Poet's School 101 compared to Data's!. All I can say is that Data is much more sophisticated than the Martian bird!. I enjoyed reading Data's latest poem, laughing heartily all the while!. The poem scintillates!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

How I wonder what you are

Up above the world so high

Like a diamond in the sky

Twinle, twinkle, little star

How I wonder what you are
