Leave the reed hollow!. Do not allow
Drum rivers in the sand!.
Destroy ceilings!.
Set voices free!.
Does the heart leave its warm bed to
Heat another's chill!.
Can it!. Would it!. Should it
Choose!.
Thorns twine the heart, slowing,
Constricting, stopping!.
Once!.
To leave its warm nest, unable
To void another's ice!.
Death twice!.
For each!.!.!.choices!. Salvation or
Redemption!.
Forgetting or remembering!.
Memory or reincarnation!.
Peace be with you!.
With you, Father!.
Who tends, trims the vining rose,
What water from cracked reed
Reaches roots in dust!.
Who judges the hand's action!.
Vine a monolith only twice!. Send one
Wickless candle!.!.!.and
On my heart

Oh! Now there is not even a candle to light the way, for the candle is wickless!. What a cold, lonely way to die! If one is reincarnated without memory, isn't that a different person!? We are our memories!. What would we be with total amnesia!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
The choice one exists on is, of course, only the option of what to believe, not the ultimate and unknowable truth!. "Who judges the hand's action" is a marvelous line!. The whole poem is very thought-provoking and inspiring!. In this piece I'm seeing some-one who gave their love/heart to another only for it to be rejected - experiencing death of the soul before physical death!.!.!.!.!.I need to look deeper into the vine/monolith references!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
A great read by a very gifted poet!. My compliments!. I had to back track and reread!. Still not quite sure of everything but the themes of salvation versus reincarnation run through your words and images!. A lot to discover not only in meaning but in structure of lines and words!.
