Snidely may be out a ramblin,
But for me, two eggs I'm scramblin!.
Coffee perking in the old glass pot,
It gets so black, your gut it'll rot!.
But morning doesn't start till I read your poem,
Then wash up, clean teeth, brush and comb!.
I'm ready to start the day anew!.

We met a chicken on our walk to-day,
My grandson Jacob and me!.
As we went down the lane
It strutted and clucked ahead of us
Meandering from side to side!.
'What's that bird, Nana!?' Jacob cried
Such a poor urban child (so deprived)
Then
He chased the chicken
Like a dog on speed
With a whoop and ferocious roar!.
See, it doesn't take kids long
To get the hang
Of what a loose chicken's for!.
