Question: Will my friends forgive me!?
Suzi had brought something to my attention with my "poem" to Miss Fix It!.!.!.I hope it didn't deter anyone from offering critique on my work in the future!. That wasn't my intention!.!.!.I really do appreciate everyone's helpful critique here, good and bad!. But the key word in there is helpful (which I do get a lot) but I didn't really consider

"Random
line breaks do
not a poem

make!."

critique!. More a rude remark!.

Sorry if I offended anyone!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Is not, and I repeat NOT a rude remark, it is a basic fact that many do not realise or for that matter want to know!. if so, my answer could be chopped up and called a poem!.

I'm never offended!. So, I did a little work on your question to provide proof of your own words!.

But it is quite true -- that random breaks and strings of words don't make a poem!.

More is required!. Your question slightly edited -- doesn't make a poem, although the appearance is one!.

Take a look at your question:

Sher, there is nothing to forgive!. She gave her opinion!. You gave yours!. Accept it, agree with it or not is up to you, then move on!. I've had the weirdest critiques!. One said, 'no comment' - lol!. I wondered why they bothered to comment at all!. Another said, 'sounds kindergarteny' - lol!. She made up her own word!. In these cases, I just ignore them, especially because there was no substance behind the criticism and offer of an alternative to make the poem better!. So, I just continue a poet's life and write another poem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read Dondi's and Tori's answers half a dozen times!. Here's a rude remark: "Your poem makes me want to puke!. Put it in the shredder and keep it there!." These are remarks I have received on my poetry!. My poems may not soar with Shakespeare, but I don't believe they are so bad they cause nausea and lack of control of the sphincters!. Miss Fix it is correct, even though the poem of which you speak was actually a poem!. Because of the attitude, some valid critique is taken the wrong way!. Still, never fear to post a poem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sher,

No offense was taken!.!.!.truth is though, rude criticism comes with the territory!. I can't even repeat online some of the things my work has been called by editors no less--not to mention the personal attacks!. Try your hardest to just assume your poem had an impact--albeit a negative one--and mentally thank them for it and move on!.

I know it's tough, but it's a good habit to get into--even if they are rude!.!.!.if there is nothing to learn from their comments than move on!.

Fixit was stating that she thought that your poem was random line breaks in prose--now I wholeheartedly disagree--but still you weigh it, and thank them, and move on!.

I know, I know!.!.!.easier said than done!.

I've enjoyed a lot of your work so far!.!.!.working to deal with this type of criticism will only help you grow as a writer!.

All my best,
