Question: What think you of another India-oriented poem!?
Memento Mori

Flame-blue puffs of sky
Kneeling Bene,
Bene,
Benediction memories!.!.!.
Salvation gleaming!.!.!.
Just as lies
Foretold you staying
Forever!.

Rise! Rise! Rise my
Heart!
As flame within the
Lotus!.!.!.
Then settle thorns,
untipped,
On ripples of
Benares
Blue!.!.!.

As surely as you, giving
The mementos
Back!.!.!.
And laughing into
Invisibility!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Very spiritual!. Makes me home sick!. Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Striking, as always!.

India has such a rich and long-lasting culture!. Your last stanza brings to mind reincarnation -- the mementos returning to the same person, different body!.

It was so clever to bring in Benares, the old name of Varanasi, that again takes on the possibility of living once again -- name change, city the same!.

You weave so many symbols throughout the poem that it is rich beyond first or fifteenth reading!. One that should live on!.

sorry ! I always thought " memento mori " the recollection of death but now I know I am doomed to lose even my flawed beliefs, sardonic humour!. !.And I do not have to look it up! How cool!.!. so simple!.!. so sad!.

I lived for six months with a new friend , my teaching partner!. She was Indo-Guyanese and a very faithful Hindu !.She was a great help to me understanding water and its importance as a both a nurturing agent and a receptacle of life's divine wisdom!.

Your Memento Mori is I think a Water Poem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read this of what was - a dream of the future, and then the promise broken!. I am not sure if there is anger, but I suspect there is!. I enjoyed your references to India - vivid images conveying meanings and emotions!. As always, a great poem!. Perhaps, I'm reading my own life into your poem!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
