You look back on a most of the poetry "greats" and they were all men!. Whitman, Keats, Byron, Shelley, Shakespeare, to name a few!. All men!. Yes, poetry is for boys too, it is just more societally acceptable for women, which I don't know why!. No perspective on anything should be completely gender dominated!. you know a lot of girls really like it when guys write poetry!.
It shows the girl that you are sensitive, romantic, sweet!.!.!. and much more!.

In my opinion, I think it is sweet!. Don't listen to anyone who says your gay just cuz you do something that you like!

Anyone can write poems!. It means your telling your emotions!. And showing how you feel!.
And nothing is wrong with it, don't let anyone ever tell you that!.
