I think it's truly horrible in every meaning of the word!. However down to earth it may have seemed, it has no place in our time!. Our world may be falling apart, but this piece promotes drugs, sex, and many other destructive behaviors!. People have gotten so much negativity and destructive literature about our world that people are afraid to write something CONSTRUCTIVE!. Sure people rant and rave about how the world is going to the pits, but who are the ones trying to do something that CAN actually be done!? I'm talking political and local!. This poem is just a rant and raving about how much the world sucked at that time!. No offerings of solutions to the situations described!.!.!.so all in all, I think it's a waste of space and thinking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is a classic "beat generation" poem!. It is probably his masterpiece, and the height of his poetry career!. That said, I am not that fond of Mr!. Ginsburg for several reasons!. He was a member of NAMBLA!. The North American Man Boy Love Association!. He really seemed to me a 2nd rate Bob Dylan!. And his actions during the 60's helped to divide a country already deeply divided over the Vietnam war!.
