Passion
Rita Dove said (I think, and I paraphrase)
"If poetry takes off the top of my head, then it is good)
A good scalping
You need to reach into the depths of your soul and your heart, to the things that mean the most to you, to your fears, yes the things you fear most, and love, gained and lost, search yourself for what makes you tense, or rapturous, or morbidly depressed!. Take a feeling, straight from the heart, until it aches and your chest is so tight that you pray your sternum can burst to release the pressure for what you yearn that you cannot have, and want to be, but you can't seem to make it, that you love, so much that your hands can't love enough, so your lips can't accomplish, when you want to rip open the cardial tissue of your beating heart and put someone inside!.

Now, Write!.

Passion

(And for the love God, keep a Thesaurus handy)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Passion means from the heart really!. I mean passion is in love songs and poems but also in other things, you can be passionate about a subject, which means you have very strong opinions on it!.
Apparently my poem that i just posted is very passionate, it is about homophobia, I am not homosexual but i tried to be passionate and speak from the heart, so even if you poem is not directly related to your situation the chances are it will involve feelings that you have with other things describe that feeling then link it to your poem!

As i said i have no experience with homosexuality, but i have strong opinions, so just speak from the heart and use lots of emotive language!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Passion comes from a deep connection to your subject and your ability to transfer that connection, even if briefly, to your reader!. In a few words you reach out across time and space and make a profound, emotional connection with someone you may never know, but through your poem, with whom you have now shared an intimate, common experience!. And don't think it always has to be about "deep stuff!." Laughter, joy, irony!.!.!. these are as much part of our experience as sadness and ripping your heart out !.!.!.as is rage !.!.!.as is lust!. For my part, rather than using a thesaurus, I would suggest you get away from your desk and live a little Do what you love -and learn that language!. Then bring that experience back to your poetry every day!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Basically, you need to establish stronger feelings in what you write!. Whether you change your word choice, or the ways you set them, the end product is what needs to be 'passionate!.'Www@QuestionHome@Com
