I have the right to think me “special”
after all that I’ve been through
Tell me, just what was your life like
and how it affected you!?
Everyone’s got a story
with differential ends
People brag and some are humbled
and the rest put up defense
Governments got screw loose,
Hey, it matters not the vote
There just loggin’ down your signature
on documents they wrote
If a free country was all it was
like the “good o’l USA”
I’d be the one gal making money
like pen pushers do today
Ya, and the rich are getting richer
and the poor just ask for more
the middle class seem worried ‘bout
which side they’re headed for
Although I dropped ‘fore graduate
I’m special yes, indeed
cause, I was blessed with a gift for writing

But when you're a "dude!.!.!."
We have no choice!.!.!.
Making a "career" out of marrying someone rich or famous is not an option for us!.!.!.so!.!.!.

Homelessness, psyche ward, prison, or death,,,

For a career, the one I'd choose,
Would be one with the most to lose!.
I'd chase the girls throughout each day,
And on their hearts I would then prey!.
I'd take their love, I'd take their money,
When they were broke, then bye bye honey!.
The only one I would not do,

Were I to start again, or do it over; I would have to reinvent me!. I would have to be God, and I am not!.
God gave me what I have and the tools to run my life; and this is the result based on my choices!.
It starts way back in the land of the little people where big people tell us what we are supposed to believe!.
Choice 1!.
Believe Daddy or Mommy or not!.
Choice 2!. Believe Minister, priest, Rabbi, or not!.
Choice 4!. Believe peers or not!.
Choice 5!. Believe disease or not!.
Choice 6!. Believe self or not!.
This is already spiraling out of control like a flow chart in a school for A D D kids!.
I started life with a good brain, asthma,Kleinfelter's Syndrome, A D D; and a decent but dysfunctional family of alcoholics, and wanna be alcoholics!.
Then I was asked to believe in 1!. God!.
2!. Santa Claus!.
3!. The Easter Bunny!.
4!. The Great Pumpkin!.
Then I was told 2 through 4 were not real!.
I lumped 1!. in with 2 through 4!.
Then I believed in Mommy and Daddy till Daddy died, and Mommy took to the bottle, so I was left with Self!.
Then I took a drink, and I got to hear what the disease of alcoholism had to say in my ear all the time!.
I call that "The Committee"!.
Then 40 years passed and I found out that 1!. was real and 2 through 4 were really false!.
Now that I have 1!. I don't have to take a drink today, and I don't have to listen to the committee as long as I talk to 1!. on a daily basis!.
Only God could change all that and come up with something pleasing to Him and to me; but then I would not be me anymore!. Now you know why I don't want to play 1!.

So very, very true Shad!. If it offends anyone, it is because it is true!. True enough, I believe in education, and as much of it as you can get, but I don't ever put someone down that doesn't get one, sometime they have more education than someone who spends 6 or 8 yrs in a college and are as dumb as a brick!. It takes more than "book learning" as my Daddy used to say!. But sometime a degree is just paper hanging on the wall, like the two I have!. I love your poem, and the thinking you put into it!.
