just to hold your hand, and I am lost to imagination!. A sort of starry-eyed fascination!. I would die to touch your hair!. I could perhaps, collapse, in a red-faced moment, shy!. I know you wonder why I sigh, and swiftly look away!. It's just, you burn inside my heart, but I hope you don't yet see me through!. No one should ever need to ask that!. Art and writing, especially writing poetry, are something you do because you feel a compulsion driving you to it!. If you were told that you should give up poetry or even told that poetry would be illegal and you persisted writing in secret because you love it, then you are a poet!. If you could give it up just because a few people here said you should, then you were never meant to continue!. If you love words, if you read other writer's works with either envy or contempt, if you agonize over finding just the right word or image, then maybe you are ready to be an artist!. Poets starve!. You will have to find some other line of work that will meet your financial needs and continue writing for your own sake!. Whether you ever get published is another matter, and an unimportant one!. What matters is that you are expressing yourself and doing what you love!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Well, as far as pursuing poetry as a career, I would say you should make some other goals!. It's an okay poem, but honestly it's nothing original or imaginative!. Very high school/middle school subject matter, too!.
