Question: Can you remember Burma Shave signs!?
Along the highways out of town,
There were some ads that were renown!.
They were so space so we could read,
And take to heart the words to heed!.
They always formed a simple rhyme,
The same words at the end each time!.
THE WOLF
IS SHAVED
SO NEAT AND TRIM
RED RIDING HOOD
IS CHASING HIM
BURMA SHAVE
I miss these little words of wit,
Along the roads the words were rit!.
They occupied the weary mind,
When entertainment's hard to find!.
If signs like these you ever see,
Take snapshots for posterity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Thanks for the memories - on a highway in the desert - I was fully enjoying the experience!. It was even multiple - every 10 miles or so - another "advertisement array" would appear!. Great fun - better than "car bingo" ;-) I was too young to have a camera - that was the big giant thing that my dad had!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I remember hearing of them!. There is a store in the mountains here in Colorado that utilizes that old sign system!. All the way on the road to Steamboat Springs are signs for the E!.L!. Light Dry goods store!. They are clever little signs about a quarter mile apart for 20 miles from Kremmerling to Steamboat!. Thanks for the memories!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
