Question: I recently found this poem and am curious as to its possible meaning!. Any interpretations!?
It's entitled "Stilts!."

The times have raised us up,
And so have those before us!.
Our stilts make us stand lanky and awkward,
But able to see all that may kill us below!.
We see the traps that ensnared fathers past,
And the mines that detonated on fathers past!.
Now we, with our height, step over them,
Yet having been born wearing stilts
Still does not allow us to use them with ease!.
We’d love to take strides as our fathers did,
But we stand hesitant,
For more traps,
More mines,
And more boulders
Are liable to ensnare us,
Set us ablaze,
Or trip us,
And a fall from mid heaven
Will surely bruise the face more
Than a fall from six feet from the ground!.
We’ve been made to look like circus performers
As our inexperience makes us wobble unsteadily,
And fathers past laugh at us,
But some try to extend a hand!.
Our stilts are too tall for us to reach down,
But we’ll grab hold of a reach from the ground -
Only if it’s with love!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To me it speaks of the past experiences and trials that those before us have been through!.!.!. the lessons should be so clear to us, but because we were not of that age we do not understand and choose not to use these experiences to guide us through our lives!.!.!.!.
we feel invincible when it comes to the mistakes of the past and believe we have better ways of dealing with them!.
Unfortunately, we do not have the maturity and knowledge to heed their warning!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Our acquired knowledge and advantages have made us more wary and unwilling to take more risks/do more!.
It is usually seen that children and grandchildren of self-made men do not achieve all that much[softened/lazy!?]
that was avery nice poem, thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your acquired knowledge has made you too wary to gain the experience needed to forge ahead as your forefathers did!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
