Question: Is the child also daughter of the woman!?
More Schoolday Memories
by Elaine P

Shopping in the mall with Mom!.
A gray-haired lady exclaims "Oh, my!"
Frail and bent and walking slow!.
Mom says "Oh, it's Miss Palmer!."
"It can't be, the last time I saw her
I was 10 years old!."
Miss Palmer speaks in rusty voice:
"Elaine, it has been 15 years!."
Mom says, "she's all grown up now!."
Miss Palmer, diminished by the years,
Raises her head, stares at the grown-up!.
"Elaine," she says, with wrinkled smile,
"Elaine was never a child!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

The subtlety of the language sits well with me as I recall it is
Elaine's memory of her childhood!. I am impelled to look further!. The theme of Memory is quite interesting especially this special one of Elaine's!.

May I defer from popular opinion that it is Elaine's memory alone that is spoken of here!. I believe this poem captures Ms Palmer's as well!. I believe Memory can lay claims "rightfully"!. If she says Elaine is her child, then she is - with justification!.

Might be giving myself ideas for a future novel in the same genre as Minority Report!. A'ight, that's my take!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Please look from this angle:One female is called by someone 'his mother',another 'his sister, another 'his daughter and yet another 'his wife'!.Please note that the female is one and the same!.I hope your question is fully answered!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
