COCOA
Every night when I come home
from being at my job,
I put the key into the lock
and weary turn the knob!.
And when the door swings open
my dogs happy face I see;
just waiting there to great me
tail awagging full of glee!.
I say "Hello there, Cocoa"
and I pat him on the head,
and he simply can't control himself,
so he lays down and plays dead!.
See that's the latest trick he's learned,
and he does it for a treat;
so he really only does it then,
because he wants to eat!.
You see he doesn't know "I" know
the reason for his glee,
so I'll go right on pretending that
