How do I pick a topic to write about?

Question: How do I pick a topic to write about!?

I write stories and poetry, mostly!.
But I'm having trouble deciding what to write about, or who my audience is!.
Usually, I just write whatever I feel like and work out details later,
but I'm just not sure anymore, and this isn't exactly writer's block!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How about something thats been nagging you all day, or something you remember clearly!. Figure out what the topic of said is, then write about it!.
As far as audience, I would try to think about that later!.!.!. fit the topic to the right audience instead of the other way around!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
