Pressing into flesh and leaving a mark
on your eye
seeing a new color for the first time
white swans, white rain, outward
drawing from the tap and taking the cold
for your throat
feeling the years for the first time
sliced and soothed, seething,
mixing a thought and kicking the edge
in the dark
being the first one for a while,
creased lip, ****** neck, the smile
taking the three and
adding them to all
of it, the end, the day, the long while
and you wonder
if you
ever know anything
