For free verse, you don't have to rhyme, and the lines don't have to have a certain beat, or be a certain length!. Therefore, you can describe emotions in deep description and thought!. You can describe exactly how you feel in flowing strands of poetry!. You can use different word choice and odd ideas that don't necessarily have opposites and similarities!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

:P there is more to it than just emotion!.

Emotion is a key element in making this cookie, but knowing your litteriary devices helps; alleteration, metaphors, similes, and ect!.

The more forms you know, the more you will use them when do the expression of the emotions!.

Example!.

I was happy and felt like a song bird singing!.

Now that is just simple and okay,

I was Jubiulant and felt like a lark who was tweeting in a midst of the sun!.

Big diffrence!.

Add a little vocabular, and make it have some UMPTH and you'll be good!.

Freeverse almost by far is a harder form of poem to be good at, considering most have a very hard time doing it [and making awesome poems] because lack of vocabulary and devices, and simply a motivation!.
Alot of free verse have to be written at weird times, when something sparks, often resulting in loss of an kick but poem becuase we all don't always have a pen on us with paper!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you mean like freeverse!? just write what you feel about a specific thing!. describe it in full emotions and in picturesque!. use vivid imageries and less vague words!. rhyming poems restrict your writing that's why i rarely write in that format!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Haiku's using juxtaposition, imagery, rhythm, meter and emotion/theme isn't a bad thing to have!.

but usually i stick to rhyming ones,
