Question: Another Following in the Footsteps of past masters!. You like!?
Weep No More
John Fletcher (up to the line)

Weep no more, nor sigh, nor groan,
Sorrow calls no time that’s gone:
Violet’s pluck’d, the sweetest rain
Makes not fresh nor grow again!.
_________________________!.!.Me from this line down
Brush away each ling’ring tear
Soughs and sighs allow not near!.
What has gone can ne’er return
Though the heart with anquish burn!.

Candles snuffed cannot relight!.
Shattered mirrors lose their sight!.
Dreams are lost as sleepers rouse,
But, steadfast are a lover’s vows!.

Life can still bring quiet joys
The meadow still, the forest noise,
The bustle of the market place
Fire-side warmth, a baby’s face!.

Time will ease thy weeping heart
‘Tis not long to be apart
In the eternity of man
A second only forms thy span!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh my! This is a lovely poem!. You blended your quatrains into the one from Fletcher with much skill and grace!. The effect is beautiful!.

Is this an example of a particular poetic form!? It reminds me of the Spanish Glosa, but that would involve two 10-line stanzas rather than four quatrains!. If it is not an established form, it should be!. Perhaps we could name it for you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Methinks the oldens live in your soul for so well the words flow as century (ies) old!. Your second stanza especially penned well!. My compliments!. An interesting way to expand from an old master!. You are becoming my muse for something!. Drat! lolWww@QuestionHome@Com

A golden oldie!! And the last stanza is the type of thing I write about very often!. It has entered my heart and I have taken it for my own (under your name, of course)!. You will be quoted for a long time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
