Question: Would anyone care to comment or critique this poem!?
Rock Of Ages

A godly and devoted wife,
My Grandma Patsy,
Loved cooking; cleaning,
Taking care of Grandpa!.

Plucky old gal too,
Suffered humiliating jobs
To pay off debts
He’d left behind!.

Debts from giving away
Groceries and supplies,
To coal miners and their families,
From his store through the years!.

Took years; paid every cent in full,
Such was her honor and self-respect!.
But it was her unwavering heart,
Bought the Rock of Ages headstone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A wonderful and touching story!. The ending tied in well with the beginning!. My only critique would be to drop the stanzas and place in more of a free verse format, especially since your beats per line vary a lot!. Then lines like: to pay off debts, he'd left behind could be combined into one line!. My compliments on the poem!. Well said!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can see nothing to critique!. Your first three stanzas tell a story of two lives well lived, and your last completes it with a show of devotion almost unheard of in this day and age!. I would love to meet Grandma Patsy, wherever she may be!. Beautiful poem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
