I used to think poetry was best "read"!.!.!.then I heard a poem read that changed my mind forever!. Yes, there are some poems that you want to 'go back and read' over and over, but it's difficult to argue that some poems don't benefit from a good orator!.!.!.in fact, the poem in question went from being a "good" poem to a "great" poem "because" of the way it sounded!.!.!.a sound that I would not have associated with the poem by the way it was constructed, but could be heard by the speaker who was very, very good!. So I guess you'd say that I love poetry, and that I love to both read and hear it, depending on the poem and the person doing the reading!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ar wyneb trist y gwaith,

i don't love poetry but i don't dislike it, i prefer to read poetry than hear it! because usually men who read it make it sound SO camp and the women just cant read it well or they put too much emotions to the wordsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Love poetry, of course all diff!. kinds, I used to write them alot, though now , not enough time in a day, plus my routine of working out -takes precedence -over poetry, though I do like to hear it -just as much!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on the poetry!. Some poems are written to be read out loud, some to be read on the page!. Though the out loud tradition is older and I tend to think a good poem should sound good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some poetry is stunning - Wilfred Owen's 'Anthem for Doomed Youth' and 'Dulce et Decorum Est' are so moving!. Some is rubbish of course (lots) but some poetry stays with you forever!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
